Seatwall Stepdown

This property had an existing concrete patio that was not only too small for the desired activities but also actively failing through large cracks. After complete removal was determined, we presented a concept of terracing the backyard to create two distinct spaces. The upper dining space gives room for both a grill and dining table, while the lower firepit lounge is separated by a stair system to add interest. The stair system not only transitions the existing elevation, but also gave us the opportunity to create auxiliary seating through the use of seatwalls. The space is large enough to allow for 15-20 people while still feeling comfortable when there are less than five.
