The entrance of this century old farmhouse was not meeting the needs of current foot traffic patterns and did not balance with the character of the home. Reorganizing the walks in a geometric pattern extended the architecture of the home to the outdoors. A custom bench was installed as a place to gather along with posts for annual color display. The planting scheme is a loose arrangement of flower color and texture held in check by the new flagstone walks and uniform turf lines. The existing walk suffered from annual flooding and icing which was corrected by raising the elevation of the new stone and ensuring proper pitch away from the foundation.
