Boulder Bar

After discussing the limited options with the existing deteriorating concrete patio it was decided to reenvision this outdoor space. Priorities were to relocate the hot tub to a more suitable location, separate the grill from the entertaining space and allow for auxiliary seating when the client plays host to family and friends. This South facing portion of the home offers a wind protected, sunny location that now benefits from the shade cast by a custom cantilevered pergola. A live edge wood slab bar is the showpiece of the space that is contrasted nicely by the contemporary lines of the natural bluestone fire lounge, pavers and walls. Trellises for added screening and vertical greenery break up the existing boulder wall and turned it from an oversized eyesore to a beautiful accent.
